Tramp material filters - Linear edge filters
Linear edge mixers - Removeable nozzle Tips
All EMI’s Nozzles feature better-than-OEM specifications and perfect finishes - no pits, burrs or rough edges. Each must pass our 100% Quality Assurance standards. All of our nozzles are guaranteed for two full year
Tramp Material Filter Nozzle
An EMI Original, this proven design is still widely used throughout the industry. Used instead of an ordinary nozzle, EMI Tramp Material Filters provide great filtration and minimal pressure drop.

(Note nozzle tips sold separately)

Filters foreign particles down to .010".Improves homogenization of the melt. Minimizes downtime.
Linear Edge Filter Nozzle & Cartridge Heaters

Materials pass over multiple flutes at the infeed end of the filter element, then pass over the barrier to the discharge flutes. The .010" clearance above the barrier prevents larger particles or unplasticized pellets from passing through the filter, while improving homogenization of the melt. Contaminants are held in the infeed side, preventing plugged sub-gates and hot runner tips. Multiple flutes minimize significant pressure drop. The filter has standard 1 1/2" O.D. nozzle body dimensions, uses standard nozzle tips and heater bands and is easily removed for cleaning by removing the nozzle tip.

Mixes dry colors, liquids, & concentrates with minimal pressure drop. Filters larger impurities

Linear Edge Mixer Nozzle & Cartridge Heaters

Available for almost any machine make, EMI Linear Edge Mixers are a direct replacement for your existing nozzle. The Mixers have multiple flutes over which materials must pass, blending materials together three times on their way to the discharge flutes. A .020" clearance above the barrier minimizes pressure drop and traps foreign particles larger than .020", protecting sub gates and hot runner tips. The Mixer has standard,
1 1/2" O.D. nozzle body dimensions, uses standard nozzle tips and heater bands and is easily removed for cleaning by removing the nozzle tip.

Removable Nozzle Tips

  • EMI Standard nozzle tips are made of S-5 tool steel which stands up to heat better than S-1, and provide better shock and impact resistance than H-13.
  • EMI Fast heat transfer tips are made of Amco 940 copper alloy because traditional beryllium copper is extremely toxic to workers when it is sanded and polished. Be safe, use only EMI’s Amco 940 fast heat transfer tips.

How to Order

Download Nozzle - order/quote form. pdf.
Fill out and fax to 216-535-4823

  • Specify type of nozzle: One-piece or Two-piece or Big Bore.
  • Specify nozzle thread diameter, pitch and thread length.
  • Specify rear opening and nozzle overall length.
  • For One-piece nozzles, specify style: (standard, reverse taper, full taper), radius, and orifice.
  • If thermocouple holes are required, specify location and tap size.

How to determine the nozzle price for your machine

  1. Find the Price Bracket for your machine by clicking on the machine make at the side of this page. Locate the correct thread diameter from the pop up chart, and note the Price Bracket (A, B or C). Note: Machines with female threads use price Bracket C.
  2. Click on One Piece Nozzle pricing or Two Piece Nozzle pricing. Locate your nozzle length and Price Bracket.
  3. For Big Bore pricing, use Price Bracket C on the Two Piece Nozzle pricing chart.
  4. If thermocouple couple holes are required, add $9.00 for each hole.
