Vacuum Cup Tips, Hints & Comments
Star Automation
The Star family of vacuum cups offers the compatibility of integrated nipple suspensions and threaded stem nipples. They also fit the very popular, Star, lightweight air cylinders. The flat cup design allows for fast vacuum build-up and release time to speed your cycles. The molded quality is outstanding.
Viton®
Green Vacuum Cups
Viton® green vacuum cups provide high temperature performance in a non-silicone, non-marking vacuum cup. They are more flexible than other Viton® cups, which allows them to be used effectively on parts with slightly textured or contoured surfaces.
HNBR
Silicone-free, hybrid

HNBR is a silicone-free, hybrid material. They are well suited for holding hot, plastic, injection molded parts. They do not leave a residue or ghost marks
Oval 2.5 Bellows
Silicone

Oval bellows cups are hard to find, but when you do, they can be a great problem solver and a great way to save money. These oval bellows can be used on medium contour surfaces without using special angle adjusting mounting brackets. And because the 2.5 bellows provide extra take-up, they can sometimes be used in place of expensive non-rotating suspensions.
Super Sucker
Try this super flexible vacuum cup on parts that are difficult to maintain good vacuum on, such as textured, greatly curved, or easily distortable parts like foils. They are available in silicone or natural rubber.
Long Neck
Silicone
These extra elastic, long-neck vacuum cups have a dedicated following of users. The long neck extends the reach of the cup beyond the congestion of the fitting, suspension, and tubing. The neck is slightly more flexible than standard flat cups.
Paper & Foil
Natural rubber
These cups are specially designed for handling paper and foil. The soft, tapered sealing lips and the inner support on the bottom of the pad prevent the foil from being drawn in. The softer material ensures that the paper and foil is not creased or damaged.
High Speed
High speed speciality - These cups are optimized in their design for use in high speed applications such as thin-wall molding of parts having flat surfaces. Their design allows faster attach/release time than other flat cups. Available in silicone and polyurethane.
4.5 Bellows
Silicone
Use 4.5 bellows cups for significantly curved or angled parts. Remember, 4.5 bellows cups have a significant volume of air to evacuate before vacuum can be generated to grip the part, so attach and release times are greater.
