Cup Tips, Hints & Comments |
PIAB
silicone
|
PIAB silicone
vacuum cups are among the best and longest lasting silicone cups
available. PIAB’s specially compounded silicone
keeps its flexibility longer than others. If your silicone cups are ‘cracking’ at
the edges and leaking vacuum, try these for longer life. |
PIAB
Dual Durometer
Polyurethane
 |
These polyurethane
vacuum cups are constructed in two different durometers, a sturdy
and forgiving green bellows (60º durometer), and a large,
yellow, flexible, sealing surface (30º durometer) that performs
extremely well on uneven surfaces. 30º durometer makes these
the most flexible sealing surface cups available. Note:
The small cup shows a white filter disc, included with all PIAB
Dual Durometer cups. Many
robot users consider these the best performing polyurethane cup
available. |
Convum,
>S< type
Viton®
|
Convum, Viton® gives you high temperature performance in a
non-silicone, non-marking vacuum cup. This material works well for
most applications;
however, note the stiffer 65º durometer when using on textured
or contoured surfaces. |
SMC
Silicone & Polyurethane
|
SMC makes
very nice quality, good performing vacuum cups, which are
well suited for most robotic EOAT applications. SMC silicone cups
have a softer, more flexible
durometer
(40°) than most silicone cups (50°~55°) which often provides
a better seal on contoured or
slightly textured
parts. EMI makes ordering them easy. Our simple step-by-step
ordering guide makes it easy for you to build the vacuum cup and
mounting
assembly that is suited to your application. Full size drawings assist
you in getting the right size. And of course, our EOAT engineers
are always available to provide engineering assitance too. |
Senvex
Hithane
|
This new hybrid
non-marking cup combines the high temperature and flexibility properties
of silicone with the wear
resistance and non-marking properties of polyurethane.
It contains no silicone so it is suitable to be used with parts that
will be painted. Hithane is designed not to leave residue, mold release
marks, or ghost marks on hot, injection molded plastic parts. |

of silicone with the wear resistance and non-marking properties
of polyurethane.
It contains no silicone so it is suitable to be used with parts that will be

marks on hot, injection molded plastic parts. |
ACLA
polyurethane
|
These hybrid,
polyurethane cups are an excellent value. They get
6X more life
than silicone and 2X more life than other polyurethane
cups, yet the price premium is only about 1.3X more than other polyurethane
cups. In addition, the maximum temperature threshold is slightly
higher than other PU cups. They are non marking and contain no
silicone
so
they are
suitable
to be used with parts that will be painted. With a shore rating of
72°, ACLA-PU is a little stiffer than
silicone and some other polyurethanes, so keep this in mind if your
part is texured or deeply contoured. |
