The new AA-35 Sprue Gripper, suited for gripping sprues in the 4–12 mm diameter range, combines the most popular features of several of our best-selling sprue grippers. The sprue detection mechanism is built into the finger. This is similar to the smaller and narrower PB13 sprue gripper, except in a full-size, full-power gripper body. Additionally, the larger AA-35's sprue detection mechanism is anodized aluminum for long life.
The biggest advantage the AA-35 has over narrower gripper fingers is that it can grip the sprue closer to the runner for a more secure hold because its fingers and body are the same width.
The AA-35 uses a simple sensing process that is easy to set up. When a sprue is gripped, it depresses the mechanism which causes the sensor to close the circuit, illuminate an LED, and send a signal indicating that a sprue is gripped. The typical "hide and seek" process of sensor set-up has been eliminated, making set up easy. Plus, only one PNP or NPN sensor is required (sold separately).
The high power gripper body and closing mechanism are the same as the popular AA-22 and AA-26 models—of which thousands are in reliable operation. The mounting holes on the AA-35 are the same as on the AA-22 and AA-26 models, so you can use the same mounting brackets.
