Utilizing the same strong and reliable gripper body of
The Original AA-20 (#790 and 791 styles), the fingers on this sprue gripper can reach beyond the face of the gripper and deeper into the tooling to grip sprues. The fingers are made with a deep diamond textured surface to provide a reliable grip when stripping force is required. This gripper is suitable for gripping sprues in the 5–20mm diameter range.
Because the body of this gripper is the same as The Original AA-20, a variety of standard mounting brackets are available to fit the AA-21-DR.
The internal jaw mechanism is constructed of hardened steel components for a maintenance free life exceeding 5 million cycles.
Sensing is accomplished with sensors on the body of the gripper to detect pneumatic piston position. Typically two sensors are used to detect three positions: full open (sensor 1 on); full closed, sprue missed (sensor 2 on); and sprue gripped (sensor 1 off and sensor 2 off).
