Working with the popular and industry standard Gimatic quick changers, an optional accessory is available that pneumatically locks/unlocks the robot side quick changer and provides sensor verification that the tooling side is locked in position. This piece is the AQC. It is available for both the standard size 90mm and large size 150mm quick changers.
The AQC modules can be added without making modifications to existing Gimatic QC-A robot sides. As well, they can be installed on new Gimatic QC-A robot sides. It works with existing Gimatic gripper QC-B sides and Senvex GSQ-G gripper sides.
A "complete" automatic quick changer set-up integrates three main components: The AQC pneumatic locking/unlocking module, a standard Gimatic QC-A robot side, and a standard Gimatic QC-B tooling side (or Senvex GSQ-G tooling side). If desired 3 sensors can be used; a Ø4mm tooling side confirmation sensor plus two sensors for detecting the pneumatic piston's position in the AQC piece.
