How to Order |
Call
1-800-543-6169 and ask to speak to one of our application
specialists.
For
each press to be serviced, fill out the Press
Dimensional Form pdf and send to EMI along with one
complete shot of part(s) and/or runner(s).
Usually,
your conveyor will be either a constantly running unit,
or an indexing conveyor which is electrically interfaced
with the robot. Use Conveyor
Specification Form pdf to indicate control options. |

Question: How
can I find out if my robot can work with an EMI automation
system?
Answer: It's
probably alot easier than you think. EMI engineers will first
assess
your robot, your application and what you want to do. Based
on this information they can determine the best type of control
for your automation system.
- Robot
Control. If
your robot is equipped with an adequate control
package, it can
be programmed to interface with any of
our Robotic indexing systems (EMI can provide programming
if
needed).
- EMI
S- 44 Control. If
your robot does not have an adequate control
package, an S-44
Indexing option can supply the interface
needed to perform a wide range of functions including,
box-filling, part stacking, part or insert
orienting,
indexing for
controlled cooling and parts accumulation, etc.
|
| Robot Control |
Your
robot control package may be capable of far more than you ever
imagined. With proper
programming by an EMI robotic specialist, and one of our robotic
indexing conveyors, your robot may be able to provide a wide
range
of cost saving,
automation
processes, including:
Box packing.
- Parts
stacking.
- Indexing
for controlled cooling and parts accumulation.
- Reversing
the conveyor to remove bad parts.
- Orientating
inserts for robotic inserting applications.
- Orientating parts for secondary processes.

S-44 Control Options |
If
your robot does not
have a sophisticated control package, EMI can design
a high efficiency Robot Control System for
your robotic applications. EMI’s
Robot Control Packages, combined with an EMI conveyor,
can provide the same wide range of automation benefits as a
robot control package - box packing, stacking, indexing, reversing,
orienting, etc.

An
S-44 Indexing option combined with a T-77 D.C. Variable
Speed
belt drive can provide a wide range of cost saving, automation
benefits:
- Variable
speed indexing
can allow more parts to accumulate on the belt. This allows
parts longer to cool (which can significantly reduce part
damage when packing) and reduces operator time.
- All
EMI variable
speed drive options use a 'soft' start/stop which prevents
tall or unstable parts from falling
over easily.
- Options,
such as reversing for bad shot rejection, are easily added.
- Provides
accurate, repeatable, indexing. Standard indexing controls
provide ±1/2" repeatability.
If greater accuracy is needed, special options
for even closer indexing are available.
- Plug
and play controls allow you to quickly unplug the robot
from the conveyor, which allows the conveyor to be moved
quickly as application needs change.
