Great Vacuum Cups In Stock

20mm, 1.5 bellows, silicone vacuum cups are among the most popular vacuum cups used on end-of-arm-tooling.  EMI has a great selection of vacuum cups and we regularly keep them in-stock.  In addition to silicone we also have a wide variety of other materials such as Hithane, polyurethane, nitrile, butadiene, Viton, EPDM, natural rubber, and others.  EMI engineering can help you select the correct vacuum cup for your EOAT.

Do you really need a long-stroke suspension?

Many times people buy long stroke suspensions because they need a long reach, not necessarily a long stroke. In these situations, using a short stroke suspension plus an extension can reduce cost and weight compared to using long stroke suspensions to achieve a long reach. EMI has a broad selection of suspensions and extensions in stock.

Nipper blade tip-to-tip opening dimensions

EMI has the widest selection of instock nipper bodies and blades to provide you with the most options for your EOAT sprue and runner cutting needs. Nipper bodies can be mixed and matched to blades between brands. At the beginning of each blade size section in our End of Arm Tooling catalog, starting on page 782, and online here: http://s7d3.scene7.com/s7ondemand/brochure/flash_brochure.jsp?company=EMIPlastics&sku=R09&config=R09&vc=initialFrame=390&rw=false (wow, that is a long link) a matrix shows Tip to Tip Blade Openings for blade and body combinations.

But remember that these dimensions can vary. The reason is all blades are finish ground and polished by hand. Therefore the rounded “legs” of the blades can vary by a couple degrees. It is this dimension that comes in contact and closed by the internal cone of the nipper. So a variance of a couple degrees would affect the tip to tip blade opening by a few tenths of a mm.

If your sprue/runner cutting application requires a critical opening, call us and we can help size the optimal blade and body combination.

Time Proven Performance

Hithane Vacuum Cups come in many shapes and sizes.

EMI introduced Hithane® vacuum cups in 2002. Specifically developed for handling warm plastic parts, we now have over 7 years of experience with vacuum cups made of this material. It has been very successful. The material has the high temperature and flexibility properties of silicone, but it is silicone-free so it is safe to use on parts that will be painted. Hithane® has the non-marking and wear resistance of polyurethane but can withstand much higher temperatures than PU. Use Hithane® vacuum cups with parts having temperatures up to 320 F.

Hithane® vacuum cups have proven to be the best general purpose vacuum cups for handling warm plastic parts.

NEW! Gimatic Framing Components

We have introduced a whole bunch of new Gimatic products including >S<-style framing components. There’s not a whole lot of difference between the Gimatic and >ASS< products, but if you like Gimatic products you can now build an entire tooling using these components. If anything, the folks at Gimatic know how to make good-looking stuff.

We designed a catalog featuring all of the new Gimatic products, but instead of printing it, we made it interactive and only available online. You can browse it like a regular catalog or search it like a Web site and can even bookmark pages.

New Forms are Faster & Easier to Submit

We decided our EOAT Design Assistance form could be better, so we took a look at it and made it shorter and simpler. There’s also no need to print, fill out, and fax the form back (unless you prefer to, of course). You can fill the form out on your computer and email it directly to our engineering department.

We have also made many of our other forms easier to fill out and submit by making them interactive. Complete them on your computer and email them directly to one of our sales reps. Check them out!

New Clean Room Conveyors

We are always busy developing and introducing new and better products for our customers. One of our newest products is ACR Clean Room Conveyors.

The ACR Clean Room Conveyors give medical molders, or anyone who needs a conveyor for their sanitary environment, an inexpensive solution. We make flat, incline, and adjustable angle models that are available in varying lengths and widths. You can even choose from several available options to customize your ACR conveyor. And if none of the ACR conveyors suit your needs, we can design and build a custom automation system for you.
